Wordless wednesday
I was going to join in with wordless wednesday blogs, but today, i cannot. I am WAY to reved up about how my company's payroll is treating me. While i made a personal vow not to divulge into my work to much (that just makes for getting dooce'd http://dooce.com/), i cannot hold it any longer. I am getting completely f'ed out of 600 bucks becuase they prey on the mistakes of new employees. So now begins the ever long battle of trying to get money back on taxes from NJ, of which i have never worked in.
So now i get to find a form from NJ to ask for the money back, and basically look like an Idiot for never noticing that they were taking out money for no reason. Direct deposit certainly has it's downfalls.

inconceivable!
know one of those people who uses words ALL THE TIME without really knowing the meaning?

Touche- –interjection
1.Fencing. (an expression used to indicate a hit or touch.)
2.(an expression used for acknowledging a telling remark or rejoinder.)
1.Fencing. (an expression used to indicate a hit or touch.)
2.(an expression used for acknowledging a telling remark or rejoinder.)
In fencing, touché (French: touched) is used as an acknowledgement of a hit, called out by the fencer who is hit. A referee can call out touché to refer to a touch being called - for example, the French call for "no point" is "pas de touche" (French: no touch).
The phrase touché is often used in popular culture and general conversation—for example, in an argument or debate. If one person presents an argument and another delivers a clever or apt response, the first person may respond with "touché" as a way of acknowledging a good response. Similarly, there is also a fencing move called a "riposte," which refers to "an offensive action with the intent of hitting one's opponent, made by the fencer who has just parried an attack" and in common lexicon is understood as a quick and witty reply to an argument or an insult.
The expression probably comes from the first blood duels, relatively common in the eighteenth century: during the duel touching the opponent with the tip of the sword was sufficient to win; when this would happen the loser would acknowledge the defeat yelling "touched" hence ending the fight.

He call's over to her asking "so how is the place?" in a obvious, cheerful tone (with the Apartment Leasing Agent next to him). The tenet reponse in a sarcastice tone "Oh, the walls are soo thin i hear my neighbors, its too loud here..." At this point, the guy isnt sure if she is serious or not... "And

my carpets still smell like cat piss and they havent done anything about it..." the Agent then responds "Well, they are looking at a remodeled one so there are lots of changes...", trying to save face with this tenet. Then tenet goes on "Well, IM JUST TELLING IT AS IT IS. THIS PLACE IS CRAP. I SHOULD HAVE NEVER MOVED HERE!!!" to which the agent responds "Thanks (Tenets Name)! bye now!" and all the while the poor gentlemen are just confused to all heck. I almost spoke up the next time i saw them, but i dont really like yelling across the parking lot.
my suggestion, for the crazy tenet. Complain to the correct people - the leasing agents can only do so much for complaints. If you are really unhappy either complain to the property company OR MOVE OUT. seriously.
Who moves into an apartment thinking the walls wont be thin??
